An increasing likelihood of incursions from the north as Artic sea ice retreats as the globe warms. Then there’s the prospect of terror from the east. Tomorrow it will be the west perhaps, or the south.
Sovereignty is a provocation it seems, borders potential battle lines drawn up fluidly on maps. Nations are largely market stalls with traders competing, even fighting and stealing, for profit. Inhabitants are just customers, expendable for short term gains.
What is there here to be proud of, to be worth defending?
